1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing and using Financial Records ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms.

2. What the Service does

Financial Records is a personal financial management platform. It lets you:

• Track expenses and income across multiple accounts
• Manage credit cards, debit cards, loans and savings accounts
• Monitor subscription payments and recurring transfers
• Generate financial reports and analytics
• Share a household's records with other people you invite

3. Your account

To use the Service you must:

• Sign up with an accurate, current email address that you control
• Keep access to that mailbox secure -- there is no password, so whoever can read your email can request a sign-in link
• Tell us promptly about any unauthorised access
• Be at least 18, or have a parent's consent

4. Privacy and data protection

We collect and use your information as described in the Privacy Policy. In short:

• Each account's financial data is held in its own separate database
• All traffic between you and the Service is encrypted with TLS
• We do not sell or share your personal financial information
• You keep ownership of your data
• You can export or delete your data at any time

5. Subscription and payment

The Service offers both free and paid features:

• Monthly: $4.99 per month
• Annual: $49.99 per year
• Payments are processed by PayPal; we never see or store your card details
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled
• Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
• Attempt to reach another account's data
• Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the Service
• Pass your sign-in links to people who should not have access
• Track someone else's finances without their permission

7. Backups and security

• Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose -- the export is there for this
• We are not liable for data loss caused by user error or account deletion
• Traffic is encrypted with TLS, and sign-in uses one-time links rather than passwords

8. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties. We are not liable for:

• Financial decisions you make based on what the Service shows you
• Interruptions to the Service or loss of data
• Failures of third-party integrations or external services
• User error or misuse of the platform

9. Termination

Either of us may end this agreement at any time:

• You can cancel your subscription and delete your account
• We may suspend accounts that breach these terms
• After deletion, account data is retained for 90 days for recovery
• After 90 days it is permanently deleted

10. Changes to these terms

• We will email you about significant changes
• Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept it
• If you disagree with a change, you may close your account
